Susan Leigh Brown, a graduate of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and the Wayne State University Law School, has devoted her 20+ years as a lawyer to litigation and appeals in the areas of employment law and counseling, credit union regulatory compliance and counseling, insurance defense, personal injury defense, and commercial litigation. Among her representative clients are Affirmative Insurance Company of Michigan (auto insurance defense), Liberty Union Life Assurance Company (life and health insurance) and the Michigan Credit Union League (financial institutions law).

Ms. Brown was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1988, the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Michigan in 1988, the U.S. Court of Appeals 6th Circuit in 1989, and the U.S. District Court Western District of Michigan in 2001.

Ms. Brown has taught several seminars including fraud prevention for financial institutions, director and officer liability, and several employment law seminars on topics including HIPAA, COBRA, wages and benefits, employment discrimination, whistleblowers claims, and drafting and enforcing personnel policies and is a frequent presenter at human resources meetings on various topics of interest to employers.

In addition to practicing law, Ms. Brown has served on several boards including the Board of Trustees for Kensington Academy, the Board of Directors of the Detroit Grand Prix Association (President 200-2001) and the Board of Directors of Knightsbridge Condominium Association. She has also worked on several community events including Detroit's Tri-Centennial celebration, Ford Motor Company's Centennial and the annual Detroit Jazz Festival as Assistant Transportation Coordinator.
