RELEASED: August 15, 2012
FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN -
Attorney Jay Schwartz knows how to tackle tough cases. He is currently representing Uni-Dig, a Michigan environmental services company whose composting operation in Macomb County has become controversial due to concerns about the emission of odors. In late July, there was a suspicious fire at the site that may have been caused by arson.
Mr. Schwartz, of Schwartz Law Firm in Farmington Hills, is defending the company against two lawsuits — one by Clinton Township and another by a group of nearby property owners. Uni-Dig has already successfully argued against a preliminary injunction against its operations sought by the township.
The cases litigated by Mr. Schwartz are often high-profile disputes that attract press attention. In addition to the Uni-Dig dispute, he has recently appeared in the media regarding a civil rights case in Warren. His firm is also involved in a well-publicized employment discrimination case in Bay City.
Jay Schwartz is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School. He has been a member of the Michigan Bar since 1991.
